MobileUni App presented at the Moodle Research Conference

A paper about the Moodle App, developed within the MobileUni App project, has been presented at the second Moodle Research Conference, which took place in Sousse, Tunisia, on October 4-5, 2013.

The paper, titled Bringing the technical and didactical perspective together in the design and development of a Moodle App within the FRAME (Framework for the Rational Analysis of Mobile Education) model, has been presented by Ioana Porumb (Fernfachhochschule Schweiz) and Goran Josic (eLab).

New “look & feel” for the iCorsi2 platform

iCorsi2, the eLearning platform of USI and SUPSI, has now a brand new look!

The tweets of eLab, of USI and of SUPSI have been integrated into the homepage, as well as the details of the contact persons for USI and for all the SUPSI departments.

The platform has also been upgraded to a new version of Moodle (2.4). To support the users, in the next weeks the FAQ section will be progressively updated.

Closing event AAA/Switch program

On Thursday, June 13, the closing event of the AAA/Switch program took place in the beautiful St. Peter’s island (St. Peterinsel). During the event, some projects have been awarded.¬†eLab got one of the most prestigious awards: that for the project with the shortest duration, thanks to the Moodle SMS Gateway project! :-)

Presentations of the SAMoo meeting

On Thursday, May 2, eLab has hosted at USI in Lugano the 8th SAMoo meeting, the meeting of the Swiss Academic Moodle community.

The next SAMoo meeting will be on September 6, 2013 in Luzern, during the Swiss MoodleMoot 2013.

Master in Health Sciences, University of Lucerne

Starting in fall semester 2013, the Swiss Paraplegic Research center, together with the Department Health Sciences & Health Policy of the University of Lucerne, will offer a new Master in Health Sciences.

Some of the courses proposed in the program will be offered in a “blended learning” mode. eLab has been asked to contribute to the instructional design of these courses and to the implementation of a dedicated Moodle platform for their online activities.
