The tests on the¬†“Safe Exam Browser (SEB)” software continue at USI. After a first test in the course of Medieval history (“Storia medievale” – prof. Marco Meschini) during the Autumn Semester 2015-2016, on Monday, June 27th, 2016,¬†the exam of the course of Multimedia application (“Applicazioni multimediali”), given by dr. Silvia De Ascaniis¬†and prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, was held.
The exam was taken by 80 students of the Faculty of communication sciences; 65 of them used the SEB software on their own laptops or on the laptops provided by the university, without any relevant issue. The remaining 15 students preferred doing the exam on paper.
SEB is a software that allows safely running online exams on the iCorsi2 platform using the Quiz activity. The software changes any computer into a secure workstation, regulating the access to utilities, and preventing unauthorised resources being used during an exam.
On September 9-11, 2015, the multiconference Em&M Italia 2015, organized by the Italian Society of eLearning (SIe-L), the Italian Society of Research on Media Education (SIREM) and the Italian Moodle Community, took place in Genova.
Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, scientific director of eLab, gave¬†a speech on “School, digital competence and teacher training. Zooming-in to meet teachers, and -out to see centuries“. The podcast of his speech can be viewed at this URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBZ5SKxGRrQ (from 1:00:00)
The program of the entire event and the related presentations can be viewed at this page.
- responsive design (iCorsi2 can be displayed optimally from any kind of device, such as computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones);
- cleaner graphics (merging of all available settings for a resource/activity in a single menu; new text-editor);
- advanced conditional activities (each resource/activity can be made available only for a single user, a group of users, or starting from a given date);
- annotation of PDF assignments (teachers can add comments and annotate PDF assignments directly from the platform).
By the end of the summer, some new videotutorials about these features will be added on the iCorsi2 FAQ section.
