The kick-off meeting of the project MOCLog: Monitoring Online Courses with Logfiles took place on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Brig.
Aim of the project is to build a tool for Moodle to monitor the activities on the LMS, giving to students, teachers, program managers and administrators, data that can be useful to improve the quality of teaching and learning in online courses.
Partners of the project are: FFHS (leader), BFH, FHNW, eLab USI/SUPSI. The eLab team is composed by Marco Far├ę (contact person) and Riccardo Mazza.
On March the 23rd a beta version of the new Gismo has been released. GISMO is a tool able to extract tracking data of Moodle users and to generate graphical representations, for supportin instructors’ monitoring of class and students.
The features of version 2.0, differently from the previous version, are the following:
– it supports the latest (1.9.x) version of Moodle
– user interface does not use anymore Java applets, but it has been redesigned from scratch and it is based on modern AJAX interface.
