The mobile apps of iCorsi2 and of USI¬†for iOS and Androidare have been published in the last weeks.
The USIapp provides access to services and information about the university campus of Lugano and is available in English and Italian. Through the app you can check the length of the queue to enter the cafeteria (“mensa”) and download the menu, find information about courses, exams and services, search books in the library, find and subscribe for sport activities, and so on. New functionalities will be added in the next releases. The app is available in the App Store (for iOS) and¬†Google Play (for Android).
The iCorsi2 app allows students to easily access the iCorsi2 platform through smartphones and tablets and can be downloaded for free from the App Store (for iOS) and from the Google Play Store (for Android).
During the 2-day residential seminar¬†the collaborators of the four labs have worked on several projects:
- the design of a pilot MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for the Faculty of communication sciences;
- the finalization of the USI mobile app;
- the design of a learning experience for the promotion of the region and the cultural communication of Armeno.

On February 18-19, the Eduhub days 2014, the annual meeting of Swiss eLearning community, took place in Geneva. The motto of the 6th edition of the Eduhub Days was “The Creative Minds of eduhub”; about 140 professionals coming from all Higher Education Institutions of Switzerland attended the meeting.¬†The keynote speech was held by¬†Donald Clark¬†(Plan B, Brighton, Sussex, UK): “7 ways universities can stay relevant“.
After last year’s success, the student panel has been repeated and students had the chance to express their views, needs and wishes. The student award, the prize for the best idea or project given by students, went to Ioana Porumb (FFHS) and Stefano Tardini (USI) for the¬†Moodle App (currently under development): Congratulations!

A paper about the¬†Moodle App, developed within¬†the MobileUni App project, has been presented at the second Moodle Research Conference, which took place in Sousse, Tunisia, on October 4-5, 2013.
The paper, titled Bringing the technical and didactical perspective together in the design and development of a Moodle App within the FRAME (Framework for the Rational Analysis of Mobile Education) model, has been presented by Ioana Porumb (Fernfachhochschule Schweiz) and Goran Josic¬†(eLab).

eLab will participate at the eduhub days 2013, the national meeting of the Swiss eLearning academic community, which will take place in St.Gallen, on January 30-31, 2013.
2 Learning Caf√©¬†will be presented: one on Academic integrity & Plagiarism and one on training and support for teachers in using the eLearning platform Moodle, jointly with NTE-UniFribourg and IFeL-FFHS.
Furthermore, we will present 2 posters at the Electronic Poster Session: one on MocLog and one on Mobile-Uni Apps.
