USI MOOC “All’eterno dal tempo. La Commedia di Dante” is now online

mooc_dante_screenshotThe second MOOC of USI, “All’eterno dal tempo. La Commedia di Dante” (in Italian), has been published online today, Monday, March 21.

The course, free and open to everybody, will be available online for one year, until March 20, 2017. The eight chapters of the course will be released one per week in the first eight weeks of the course; the first chapter is online from today, the second one will be published on Monday, March 28, the third one on April 4, and so on.

It is possible, for those who are interested, to take an exam, and, in case it is passed, to get a certificate of accomplishment.

“All’eterno dal tempo. La Commedia di Dante”: enrolment for the 2nd USI MOOC is open

The enrolment for the second pilot MOOC of USI, developed by eLab in collaboration with the Istituto di studi italiani (ISI), is now open.

The MOOC, titled “All‚Äôeterno dal tempo.¬†La¬†Commedia di Dante”¬†is in Italian, and¬†boasts of the participation of some of the¬†most important¬†contemporary experts in Italian literature: Stefano Prandi, scientific responsible of the project,¬†Carlo Ossola, director of ISI, Piero Boitani, Corrado Bologna, Mira Mocan,¬†and¬†Lino Pertile.

The MOOC will be hosted on the iversity platform from end of March, and will remain available online for one year.

Videoshooting for USI MOOCs has started

11182127_905160989525714_6681297835482886886_nOn Monday, April 27, the first videoshooting session for USI MOOCs have taken place. In the Caritas studios, in Lugano, Lorenzo Cantoni and Nadya Kalbaska have recorded the first videos of the respective modules for the MOOC on eTourism: Communication perspectives.

In the next weeks, the videos of the other MOOC’s teachers (Silvia De Ascaniis, Elena Marchiori and Emanuele Mele) will be shot as well as the videos for the MOOC on Dante and the Divine comedy.

USI MOOCs

eLab is collaborating with webatelier.net and ISI (Istituto di studi italiani) in the design and development of two pilot MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) for USI.

  • The first MOOC, “eTourism: Communication Perspectives”, will focus on the topic of online communication in tourism, will be in English and will be launched in Autumn 2015.
  • The second MOOC will be about¬†Dante and the Divine comedy, will be in Italian and will be launched at the beginning of 2016.

Both MOOCs will last 8 weeks and will be hosted on iversity.

eLab staff is in charge of the instructional design and of the video production for both MOOCs.

Two new collections are now available on the USI iTunesU channel:

1) The complete series of Lecturae Dantis РPurgatorio (in Italian), promoted by the Istituto di studi italiani of USI during the Fall semester 2013: the 14 lectures can be viewed or downloaded from here.

2) The first 5 lectures of the series Computational Social Science Lectures, promoted by USI during the academic year 2013-2014: the available lectures can be viewed or downloaded from here.
