Switzerland Travel Academy ‚Äď The new platform is now online!

swiss_academyOn Monday, April 3rd, Switzerland Travel Academy, the new eLearning platform of Switzerland Tourism, has been officially launched.

The platform is addressed to international travel agents and tour operators, and aims at helping them better plan and market trips to Switzerland.

The project has been promoted by webatelier.net in collaboration with eLab; specifically, eLab has been responsible for the technical development of the platform, based on the Moodle LMS (version 3.1), and of the interactive contents into the course modules.

Whacy Game app has been released

whacyWhacy Game, the mobile app of Whacy (World Heritage Awareness Campaign for Youth), has been released. The app has been developed by eLab on a mandate of USI UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites.

Whacy Game is an educational game that allows you to test and improve your knowledge about the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the region of Southern Africa.

One week to the start of the eTourism MOOC

eTourism: Communication Perspectives”, the first MOOC of USI, promoted by the UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites and developed by eLab, will start on October, Monday 5th, 2015.

The course, fully free and open, will last 8 weeks, and will require approximately 3 hours study time per week.

Among the intended publics: destination managers, people active in the tourism industry, students, in particular within tourism and hospitality programs, academia and researchers, and last but not least, curious people.

Labs’ Dieta 2015 in Vernazza (Cinque Terre)

dieta2015_2On June 15-16, 2015, the traditional “dieta” of eLab, NewMinE Lab, webatelier.net and UNESCO Chair of USI took place in Vernazza, a village in¬†the “Cinque Terre” (Liguria, Italy).

Enrolment for the first MOOC of USI is now open

mooc_USIeTourism: Communication Perspectives” is the title of the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) of USI, promoted by the¬†UNESCO chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites and¬†developed by eLab.

The online course will be held, in English, by Lorenzo Cantoni, Nadzeya Kalbaska,  Silvia de Ascaniis, and Elena Marchiori, assisted by Emanuele Mele and Jingjing Lin. In this MOOC the world of eToursim will be explored through the tools and models of communication sciences.

The MOOC will be hosted on iversity and will last 8 weeks, from October to November 2015. Enrolment is open and free for all interested participants.
